Southcoast Health Systems Re-selects JACO as Preferred Mobile Cart Supplier

FRANKLIN, Mass., Oct. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- JACO Inc., a market leader in point-of-care Electronic Medical Records (EMR) healthcare computer devices, proudly announces that longtime customer Southcoast Health Systems has selected JACO UltraLite Series Carts for their mobile computer cart upgrade project.  Southcoast Health System is a community based health delivery network providing exceptional care across numerous disciplines to the communities of Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. As an early adopter of EMR and bedside patient recordkeeping, Southcoast offers the most advanced healthcare IT solutions to their team of caregivers. By upgrading to new laptop computers and making use of the lightweight and elegant designed features of the UltraLite 210 series non-powered carts, this non-for-profit organization will realize tremendous efficiency gains while at the same time further modernizing their EMR operation.

Gary Brayton, National Sales Manager for JACO, shares, "For Southcoast the right decision was to actually make the same decision that they had made years ago. Selecting to use laptop computers outfitted with supplemental batteries to provide nurses with full shift runtimes on our lightweight, non-powered UltraLite 200 series, Southcoast Healthcare IT decision makers have configured a powerful, yet cost effective solution to provide bedside patient care.  By utilizing EMR through non-powered laptop carts versus powered carts, nurses have a much lighter weight solution - making their EMR less physically demanding. Also, IT does not have the added expenses tied into managing a mobile cart fleet with onboard battery systems."

JACO's UltraLite Series is the company's 7th generation family of mobile computer carts over the last 20 years.  Founded over 40 years ago, JACO prides itself on manufacturing truly American-Made products.  JACO products are primarily constructed of strong and lightweight aluminum and steel as opposed to most other products on the market, which are manufactured out of non-durable plastic. Southcoast Health System's mobile cart team selected JACO products because of the compact and light weight design, effortless mobility and for the reliability and quality that JACO has proven to their organization over the years.

About Southcoast Health System Since the health systems creation in 1996, Southcoast has made numerous strides to offer the community it services the most advanced medical services which include open heart surgery, angioplasty and heart rhythm services, complete cancer care, neurosurgery, weight  loss surgery, orthopedic surgery, imaging services and maternity series.  Standing tall with the world-renown hospitals in Boston, Southcoast Health System allows its patients the ability to receive the very best care close to home.
