NEW YORK, April 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Centers for Specialty Care Group, a preeminent health center consortium located in New York City, upstate New York, and New Jersey, is currently celebrating the efforts of social workers as part of Social Workers Appreciation Month. The group, available at http://www.CentersHealthcare.com, is comprised of both nursing homes and rehab centers in New York.

"Certain professions are more accurately deemed vocations rather than mere day-jobs; the demands placed on a social worker in today's society are many and varied, providing constant challenges and requiring a very high standard of diligence and care. An initiative launched by the National Association of Social Workers in 1965, Social Workers Appreciation Month is an annual occurrence intended to celebrate social workers' daily assistance of both individuals and families, of every age, from all communities. The theme for 2013 is "Weaving Threads of Resilience and Advocacy," highlighting social workers' endeavors in constructing a network of security for those in need.
