The development of the second-generation ScrubTrak is based on the experience of IDS' first-generation ScrubTrak end users, as well as the findings from more than 200 customer installations within hospitals and medical facilities nationwide.  Manufactured at IDS' production facility in Clive, IA, ScrubTrak is constructed of high-quality steel and components. Powered by iQ Technology, ScrubTrak utilizes cloud-based technology for inventory management and reporting through an intuitive, easy to use software platform.

Chip Wittern, CEO of IDS, noted of the second-generation ScrubTrak, "Our new ScrubTrak builds upon the successes of our first generation experiences, and adds features and functionality.  The second-generation ScrubTrak will not only enhance the end user experience through convenience and ease of use but will provide health care administrators with greater inventory control and access to critical data in real-time 24/7."

Key enhancements of the second-generation ScrubTrak include:

  • The dispensing units allow users to choose individual sizes for tops and bottoms separately, and save the selected combination for the next transaction.
  • Flexibility with up to eight (8) different SKU selections per dispensing unit.
  • The units' slimmer profile meets OSHA guidelines for placement in hallways.
  • The return unit features three slots allowing users to return up to three items within seconds during one transaction.

Since its inception, ScrubTrak has been seen as a revolutionary breakthrough in the way hospitals and other healthcare organizations track, dispense, and manage the scrubs and medical coats that play such an important role in the lives of their employees on a daily basis. Not only has ScrubTrak been proven to help reduce shrinkage within a hospital or medical facility setting and help increase the bottom line at the same time, it also brings with it the added benefit of accountability. When an employee checks out a pair of scrubs from a ScrubTrak medical vending machine, that action is tied to identifying pieces of information like a user ID and an employee account number. Hospital management now has visibility into data such as who has checked out scrubs, who has returned them (and who has not), and how long they have been checked out for.

"It is terrific to see the enthusiasm IDS customers have for the release of the second-generation ScrubTrak," commented Emily Fischer, National Sales Manager of IDS. "Our customers were clear that they wanted a future with ScrubTrak that helps them address a growing demand to reduce scrub shrinkage, decrease laundering costs, increase employee productivity within their organizations. ScrubTrak provides our customers with real-time analytics in order to make data-driven executive-level decisions."

The release of the second-generation ScrubTrak coincides with the launch of the new ScrubTrak website,   The new ScrubTrak website uses responsive Web design practices, creating an optimized user experience regardless of the device being used.
