Apexus Answers Offers New Service: Live Scheduled 340B Group Chat

IRVING, Texas, May 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Apexus, the government's prime vendor for the 340B program, is excited to announce the launch of a periodic, scheduled, live group chat for 340B participants in Summer 2013.  This venue is anticipated to provide stakeholders quick and easy access to answers to their 340B issues, while promoting networking with peers.  This expanded service complements Apexus Answers, a call center equipped with live operators who are ready to assist 340B stakeholders via phone, email or chat with specifics about the 340B Drug Pricing Program and the government's 340B Prime Vendor Program, which was launched in late 2012.

Apexus fully supports educational efforts to drive compliance and integrity in the 340B program. Apexus responded to 340B participants' need for an accessible, trusted source of information by offering both Apexus Answers and 340B University. 340B University is an in-depth, live educational program designed to meet the practical needs of the 340B PVP participants and other program stakeholders. Topics covered in the training include statutory ceiling price calculations, fundamentals in implementing a compliant pharmacy program and hands on training with tools and resources available to assist with program integrity. Apexus uses 340B University and Apexus Answers to address the many questions and challenges facing 340B stakeholders.

As the 340B Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Prime Vendor, Apexus works closely with the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) to ensure information provided to stakeholders aligns with OPA policy. The Apexus Answers Call Center is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (CST) and can be reached by calling (888) 340-2787, by email ApexusAnswers@340BPVP.com, or live chat. Apexus will post an announcement regarding the date and time of the first live, group chat on its website in early summer 2013.

While Apexus makes every attempt to provide detailed information for participants, 340B entities are ultimately responsible for program compliance, and Apexus encourages entities to involve their own legal counsel as part of their program integrity efforts.
