After A Personal Battle to Walk and Back Surgery One of the World's Most Prolific Inventors Develops New Product

NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Millions of people will now be able to walk without canes and walkers because one of the most prolific inventors in the world solved his personal battle to walk after back surgery with another new invention.

Donald Spector is an inventor with hundreds of patents in medicine, entertainment, communications, technology and consumer products.  He has opened up billion dollar industries in several fields. Starting in his teens he created the first hydraulic exerciser; the first hyperbaric chamber for seeds; and the first ball that lit up at night.  Then teaming with his cousin and owner of John Henry, the richest horse in racing, he parlayed the horse's winnings to create a fragrance empire with the first electronic air fresheners for which Bristol-Myers Squibb created a separate division. His inventions also include the first location based advertising patents, the basis for one of the first Super Apps on Blackberrys and later on iPhones and Androids; and the first known patents for wearables. In his career Spector has also been president of a record label, an executive producer of a Broadway play, an author and advisor to many top leaders in industries and governments throughout the world.  He currently serves as Chairman of New York College of Health Professions and under the College's Intellectual Property Policy has donated his newly granted patent to the College.

Lisa Pamintain, president of New York College of Health Professions says, "We are proud that Mr. Spector has developed and donated so many proprietary products to our College, giving our institution a world class portfolio. But this patent was extremely personal. It not only will help millions of other people overcome medical adversities, but when developed will allow Don to continue his dynamic leadership in so many industries without the burden of his medical problem.  US Patent Application #14/795,151 was recently granted Notice of Allowance and the formal patent will publish shortly, as part of a wider portfolio."

Like so many of Spector's revolutionary inventions it is a simple product.  It is a clear, virtually invisible orthopedic support goes over the shoe and provides real support from falling.  Spector says "I have always thought that every problem is a patent, but this was personal and I am excited about sharing it with others."  He has brought his expertise and has worked in the sports industry, the toy industry, developed patents in real time 3D animation technology, holographic technology, 3D printing, Smartphone technology and advanced technologies in medicine and computer applications, as well as developed hundreds of patents in consumer products.

Lisa Pamintuan says, "This line of shoe stabilizers adds to New York College's proprietary lines of therapeutic clothing and accessories, in addition to Mr. Spector's early breakthrough technologies in wearables. The College is proud to own some really dramatic technologies in LED UV DNA destruction that can destroy pathogens in superbugs with light, not drugs, a process to which superbugs cannot ever develop a resistance; in bandage technology that will provide emergency expanding bandages, portable casts and technology to draw bacteria away from a wound site; and in 3D orthopedic inserts.  These products will allow technology to remedy some the problems of patients in the future. We are glad that we have another great addition from Mr. Spector to our world class patent portfolio."
