Hospital Admissions Of Kids Plummet After Harry Porter Hit The Stores

In London a research by Oxford was carried on at the John Radcliffe Hospital London. It was mainly about the number of kids admitted over the summer weekends in the emergency ward suffering from musculoskeletal pains and damages due // to outdoor activities like inline skating and microscooters.



By comparing the numbers of admissions for the weekends of 21 June 2003 and 16 July 2005, the days the two most recent Potter books, ‘The Order of the Phoenix’ and ‘The Half-Blood Prince’, were released, researchers found that with an attendance rate of 36 and 37 during these days, the number of injured kids was far lower than during the control weekends where the average number of emergency rooms visits was 67.

“We observed a significant fall in the numbers of attendees to the emergency department on the weekends that the two most recent Harry Potter books were released,” the British Medical Journal quoted the researchers, as saying.
