UMA’s Complete Conference Management Hosts “Full Spectrum of Heart Failure Therapy: Optimizing Outcomes”
Date:9/25/2019

Complete Conference Management (CCM), a division of Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) and an accredited continuing medical education (CME) provider*, will host the sixth annual “Full Spectrum of Heart Failure Therapy: Optimizing Outcomes” conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle on October 18-19. The conference, presented by the Office of Continuing Medical Education at the University of Washington School of Medicine’s Division of Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery, will offer a comprehensive review of the management of heart failure.

“More than six million Americans are living with heart failure today, and more than 500,000 new cases arise each year,” said Geordie Hyland, Executive Vice President of UMA. “Conferences like this one help to ensure healthcare professionals receive the latest knowledge and guidelines so they can best serve their patients.”

The Spectrum conference aims to fill practice gaps for cardiologists, primary care providers, advanced care practitioners, intensivists, hospitalists, fellows and residents, palliative care, nurses, pharmacists, cardiac rehabilitators, and other allied health professionals. Information will be delivered through didactics, case discussions and moderated debates, and participants can earn a maximum of 11.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Upon completing the conference, attendees will have strengthened four common practice gaps in treating heart failure. Specifically, they will be able to

1.    Describe the epidemiology of heart failure of varying types and severity,
2.    Explain the medical and surgical management of heart failure,
3.    Discuss the results of recent clinical trials, and
4.    Employ new technology and innovations for heart failure treatment.

“Ultimately, this conference will help practitioners improve care for a wide spectrum of heart failure patients – from those with just mild symptoms to those with fulminant cardiogenic shock,” said Tracey Fernandez, Executive Director of CCM. “For patients dealing with these conditions, having a highly-skilled medical practitioner who is up to date on the latest research and standards can mean the difference between life and death.”
