Date:2/15/2013

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 15, 2013

SpaFinder® Wellness, Inc., today announced that the company is expanding its presence in Canada and that Leslie Bruce has been named managing director of operations of the Canadian division. In her new position, Bruce will play an integral role in the growth of SpaFinder.ca and will be directly responsible for implementing new initiatives, as well as leading the growth of the SpaFinder Wellness Canada Network of spas, fitness, and wellness businesses.

SpaFinder Wellness (http://www.SpaFinder.ca) has been in business in Canada for six years and recently opened new offices in Toronto to serve both its growing network of wellness partners and millions of consumers who use its services. The company’s gift cards, which can be used at spa, yoga, Pilates and fitness/wellness businesses around the globe, are sold at over 6,000 retail locations throughout Canada. Corporate clients also use SpaFinder Wellness Gift Cards for rewards and incentives, including employee wellness programs.

The company also plans to add Canadian-specific content to SpaFinder.ca and launch a new French Canadian website.

“A company’s success is based on its ability to attract exceptional talent. Throughout her career Leslie has demonstrated that she not only has the ability to plan initiatives, but she also has the skills and passion to successfully execute those plans,” said SpaFinder Wellness Chairman & CEO Pete Ellis. “Her extensive travel and online marketing experience will be an important factor in the company’s growth, as we expand our global network of spa, fitness, and wellness providers and introduce innovative technology and products that make it easier for people in Canada to lead healthy, happy lives.”

Before joining SpaFinder Wellness, Bruce was a member of the executive management team of TUI Education North America, a division of TUI Travel Group, which is a global leader in the travel industry. Based in Toronto, she served as commercial director of the division and was responsible for leading the sales, marketing, and business development functions for seven student travel brands in Canada and the U.S. Previously Bruce was executive vice president of sales and marketing for TUI’s Quark, a polar expedition company, where she created online sales and marketing strategies and significantly exceeded revenue targets in over 50 markets around the world.

She brings over a decade of experience in the travel industry to SpaFinder Wellness, including her tenure as chief operating officer for Butterfield & Robinson, the Canadian purveyor of luxury cycling and hiking tours around the world.

Bruce holds a B.P.H.E./B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Queen’s University.

“I am thrilled to join SpaFinder Wellness and build a team that will create a uniquely Canadian experience for consumers,” said Bruce. “It is exciting to be part of a thriving brand in a growing industry, and I look forward to partnering with spa and wellness providers to further develop our Canadian offerings.”

SpaFinder, which was founded in 1986, recently re-branded as SpaFinder Wellness, in recognition of the company’s more diverse wellness focus. In 2012 the company also launched a corporate wellness program, which offers employers incentives fully aligned with their employee health objectives.
