Ovation Abstracts Selected for Presentation at ESHRE in Vienna

Ovation® Fertility scientists have been invited to present four pieces of research at the 35th European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) Annual Meeting in Vienna, June 23-26, 2019.

Ovation’s oral presentation about the use of artificial intelligence in IVF has been pre-selected for consideration for both the Basic Science Award for Oral Presentation and the Fertility Society of Australia Exchange Award.

  • • Artificial intelligence (AI) technology can predict human embryo viability across multiple laboratories with varying demographics with high accuracy and reproducibility. M. VerMilyea1,2, A. Miller1, A. Picou1, M. Lane3,4, G. Adaniya5, B. Bopp6, D. Morbeck7, E. Behnke8, L. Click8, R. Matthews9, A. Lim10, J. Hall11, A. Murphy11, D. Perugini11, M. Perugini11. (1Ovation Fertility, Laboratory, Austin, U.S.A., 2Texas Fertility Center, Clinic, Austin, U.S.A., 3Monash IVF Group, Laboratory, Richmond, Australia, 4Repromed, Laboratory, Adelaide, Australia, 5Ovation Fertility, Laboratory, Indianapolis, U.S.A., 6Midwest Fertility Specialists, Clinic, Carmel, U.S.A., 7Fertility Associates, Laboratory, Auckland, New Zealand, 8Ovation Fertility, Laboratory, Cincinnati, U.S.A., 9Oregon Reproductive Medicine, Laboratory, Portland, U.S.A., 10Alpha Fertility Centre, Laboratory, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, 11Life Whisperer, Company, Adelaide, Australia.)

“ESHRE rejects nearly half of all abstracts submitted. All four abstracts submitted by Ovation scientists were accepted for publication and presentation, demonstrating the excellence of Ovation’s collaborative scientific program,” says Ovation Newport Beach Lab Director Mitchel C. Schiewe, PhD. “Even more noteworthy is that the embryo morphology AI study led by Dr. VerMilyea was among the less than 1% of submissions selected for award consideration in the opening-session oral presentations. It’s quite an honor to be nominated for an ESHRE scientific award.”

The Ovation delegation will present three poster presentations at ESHRE 2019.

  • • Current laboratory standards for assessing vitrified-warmed blastocyst viability fail to accurately predict their implantation potential. J.B. Whitney1, R. vanTol2, A. Miller3, K. Mayer4, M.C. Schiewe1. (1Ovation Fertility, ART Lab, Newport Beach- CA, U.S.A., 2Carmel- IN, U.S.A., 3Austin- TX, U.S.A., 4Cincinnati- OH, U.S.A.)
  • • Suboptimal oocyte cohort maturity impairs the implantation potential of euploid blastocysts. R. Anderson1, J.B. Whitney2, C.M. Rios3, K. Balloch2, M.C. Schiewe2. (1The Southern California Center for Reproductive Medicine, ART Clinic, Newport Beach, U.S.A., 2Lab, Newport Beach-CA, U.S.A., 3Ovation Genetics, NGS Lab, Henderson-NV, U.S.A.)
  • • 46,XX male? Reality, PGT-A misdiagnosis or laboratory quality management error? M.C. Schiewe1, N.L. Nugent1, C.M. Rios2, S. Zozula1, S. Shahbazian1, J.B. Whitney1, R.E. Anderson3. (1Ovation Fertility, ART Lab, Newport Beach- CA, U.S.A., 2Ovation Genetics, NGS Lab, Henderson- NV, U.S.A., 3SCCRM, Clinic, Newport Beach- CA, U.S.A.)

Ovation will once again have a strong presence at ESHRE, following on the heels of the group’s outstanding contributions to this major international fertility gathering last year. In 2018, Ovation also achieved a 100% acceptance rate for the abstracts its researchers submitted to ESHRE, including one oral presentation and four poster presentations at the event in Barcelona.
