North Shore-LIJ Physician Practice Group Honored with Baldrige Performance Award
Date:1/20/2013

MANHASSET, NY (PRWEB) January 20, 2013

In recognition of Medical Group Practice Week from January 21-25, the North Shore-LIJ Health System announced today that its physician practice has received the Partners in Performance Excellence (PiPEX) Silver Award, part of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Regional Program. The Medical Group’s performance was examined using the same process, guidelines and criteria for the national Baldrige Award for performance excellence. Examiners looked at the medical group’s operational processes in seven categories: leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, measurement analysis and knowledge management, human resources focus, process management and results. Organizations can earn bronze, silver, gold or platinum distinction.

By participating in the award program, the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group was able to obtain an in-depth evaluation of its performance against industry best practices as well as identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement.

“As we prepare to celebrate Medical Group Practice Week, it’s fitting that we recognize the more than 2,500 physicians who helped our medical group achieve regional honors from the Baldrige program,” said Ira Nash, MD, vice president and medical director of the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group. “The Baldrige recognition is rewarding because it recognizes the p
