New Charity Campaign Inaugurated by Freund Insurance Agency in E. Setauket, NY Raises Funds for Local Brothers With Rare Genetic Disease
Date:1/14/2016

A family owned and operated firm serving the greater Long Island area from offices in E. Setauket, Freund Insurance Agency celebrates the beginning of the latest charity campaign in their community enrichment program. Nicholas and Tyler Accardi are local brothers who have both been diagnosed with a rare genetic disease. In the spirit of neighbors helping neighbors in times of crisis, the agency is appealing to members of the compassionate community to help to this struggling family at: http://www.freundinsuranceagency.com/Joining-Nick--Tylers-Fight-Against-SMA_20_community_cause.

Nick and Tyler Accardi, and their family, are living with the daily challenges of a rare genetic disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). SMA robs people of physical strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord, taking away the ability to walk, eat or breathe, and is actually the number one genetic cause of death in infants. Although SMA has affected Nick and Tyler’s voluntary muscle movement, such as crawling, standing walking and even swallowing, these adorable boys are still full of life. But the youngsters require a number of daily therapies, and will spend their lives in wheelchairs, which means a constant and mounting medical expense burden for their loving family.

“We were truly touched when we learned of the Accardi family’s difficult situation,” stated Jeff Freund, owner of Freund Insurance Agency. “This is exactly why we started our Community Program – to help local people in need on a grassroots level. We really hope folks will give generously to this campaign. After all, today it’s Nick & Tyler’s crisis; tomorrow it could be one of our own.”

The team at Freund Insurance is hard at work mobilizing support for the Accardi family. To help achieve their goal of $500, the agency’s network of business and personal contacts are invited to actively participate not only contributing financially, but also by helping spread the word to others in their own circles of influence. The agency is also featuring the cause in their monthly magazine, which is delivered to thousands of households in the greater Long Island area. The electronic flipbook version of the current issue of Our Hometown magazine may be accessed here: http://www.freundinsuranceagency.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_41.

Readers wishing to help with Nick and Tyler’s medical expenses may visit: http://www.freundinsuranceagency.com/Joining-Nick--Tylers-Fight-Against-SMA_20_community_cause. Freund Insurance will acknowledge all those who donate a minimum of $5 in a future issue of Our Hometown magazine. Putting their money where their mouth is, the agency has also pledged to donate $10 to the campaign for each and every referral they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary.

Freund Insurance Agency will continue to research new worthwhile opportunities to support the local community, promising to unveil a new campaign every few months. Concerned members of the community may also submit information on groups, families or individuals to be considered for future initiatives here: http://www.freundinsuranceagency.com/Add-Community-Cause_48. Selected submissions will be contacted by a representative of Freund Insurance Agency’s Community Program. More information regarding past causes supported by the agency may be found at http://www.freundinsuranceagency.com/community-cause.
