Menopause Care Gets a Tech Upgrade with Gennev’s New All-Inclusive Remote HealthFix Membership

Making it easier than ever for women in midlife to get personalized, remote, and relevant care, Gennev ( today announced its new monthly membership service “HealthFix'' support for women in menopause. HealthFix offers a unique, 3-in-1 customizable approach that enables women to schedule appointments with telemedicine-based OB/GYNs for medical advice and prescriptions, as well as access professional health coaches and registered dietitians via video, chat, and text messaging. To round out HealthFix, Gennev also integrates its popular retail menopause symptom relief products, including dietary supplements, lubricants, and hygiene solutions.

“Women shouldn’t have to be wealthy to afford a personal nutritionist or exercise specialist, or gain access to menopause professionals,” says Gennev CEO and co-founder Jill Angelo. “With Gennev’s telemedicine service and additional new HealthFix membership, the everyday woman can get the personalized and remote care she needs throughout her entire journey — without breaking the bank.”

Founded in 2016, Gennev pioneered the modern-day online clinic for women in menopause. Today, over 25,000 women have turned to Gennev’s Menopause Assessment to discover if they’re in menopause, find solutions for symptom relief, and seek care from experienced female practitioners. This “Made for Women in Menopause” approach to healthcare makes it convenient to secure prescriptions for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or birth control and get medical advice from OB/GYNs while keeping rates comparable to most co-pays.

However, Gennev has learned that menopause management goes beyond providing prescription support, because not every woman can or wishes to take hormone therapy. To fill the gap, Gennev built the HealthFix membership to offer women both behavioral and medical solutions to menopause symptoms through a team of health coaches, registered dietitians, physiologists, and OB/GYNs. Gennev’s continued innovation advances the possibilities of telemedicine to give women the physical and mental health support they need online. In addition, because Gennev’s platform is online to support women through the entire lifecycle of menopause, at this critical time with COVID-19, Gennev is focused on helping women stay out of waiting rooms to keep space open for critical patients and to follow social distancing protocols.

“Too often, women are forced to put up with misinformation and resort to Facebook Groups, searching the Internet, or working with health professionals who do not understand the idiosyncrasies of menopause,” says Rebecca Dunsmoor-Su, M.D., OB/GYN, North American Menopause Society (NAMS)-certified practitioner, and Chief Medical Officer at Gennev. “HealthFix helps women feel supported from a medical and lifestyle perspective and minimizes the burden of managing communications across various healthcare professionals.”

How the HealthFix Membership Works
When a woman signs up for HealthFix, she becomes a member of the Gennev community. She’s advised to take the Gennev Menopause Assessment to understand where she is in the menopause journey. Via Gennev’s digital health platform, she is prompted to schedule her first, video-based appointment with a coach to create a personalized care plan. This approach takes into account the woman’s unique experience with menopause to formulate a personal plan, as there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution to symptoms.

With access to unlimited chat and/or video conferencing, she can communicate with her HealthFix coach for regular check-ins, refinements to her plan, and if needed, to help her schedule time with one of Gennev’s telemedicine-based OB/GYNs. Every HealthFix member’s experience is unique to her symptoms and lifestyle situation, which determines the frequency of contact between patient, coach, and doctor.

HealthFix members manage their personal plan via their health dashboard where they can track their top menopause symptoms and access Wellness Packs for Hot Flashes and Nutrition & Exercise. Each HealthFix Wellness Pack includes education resources including videos, symptom trackers, and week-by-week action plans. Quarterly, HealthFix members receive complementary Gennev dietary supplements, lubricants, and hygiene products for symptom relief formulated by Gennev OB/GYN and Naturopathic doctors. Additional product discounts and free shipping are also available.

“When I found Gennev, I was having perimenopausal episodes that were taking three days out of my life on a monthly basis. I had constant hot flashes, extreme fatigue, GI symptoms, and I was emotionally fragile. At Gennev, I found people who understand what I'm going through. The health coaches worked with me and helped me function. Now I'm able to be present for my loved ones and for my work, and I no longer worry about missing three days from life,” says HealthFix member Jennifer B. “HealthFix is a great value and I highly recommend it for anyone suffering through perimenopause.”

To support all women during their menopause journey, HealthFix offers two monthly memberships. For those who want all-inclusive access to OB/GYNs and health coaches, HealthFix Premium is available for $75 per month, which is less than the cost of a one-time, 30-minute Gennev telemedicine appointment. For those who only want access to health coaches (who are also registered dietitians) and aren’t seeking medical advice, HealthFix Basic is available for $25 per month. Memberships can be month-to-month or on an annual basis.
