Jean LaMantia Registered Dietitian, Cancer Survivor and Author Announces An Important Partnership to Help Put a Much-Needed Resource Into the Hands of Cancer Patients Across the Nation

Cancer patients and nutrition professionals have been enthusiastic in their praise of The Essential Cancer Treatment Nutrition Guide and Cookbook, which is bringing comfort to many. Designed with the nutritional needs of the cancer patient in mind, this easy to read paperback is becoming the recommended resource of cancer nutrition professionals.

In an effort to put more books into the hands of patients, the author has coordinated a nationwide movement that allows donors to commit a 'random act of kindness' by purchasing a book, having it sent to a participating registered dietitian in a cancer treatment program. As a thank you, friends and supporters of the author are in turn donating their skills in the form of downloadable bonus gifts for purchasers of the book – whether the book is bought for themselves or someone else.

“This has been organized to be a win-win-win” says LaMantia. Firstly, patients are going to receive a resource that will address their nutrition needs during treatment and into survivorship. Secondly, consumers, with little effort on their part, can feel good that they are doing something for a person with cancer that will have a big impact. Thirdly, as a thank-you for their kind act, donors are able to choose from an array of bonus gifts offered by friends and supporters.

Dietitian’s in cancer centres responded quickly and enthusiastically to the call to action and are anxious to be the ones to deliver this ‘random act of kindness’.
