Dr. Marc Lazare Has Just Completed Advanced Biomimetic Dentistry Training in Europe
Date:10/8/2019

Dr. Marc Lazare, a renowned New York City dentist specializing in biomimetic dentistry techniques, has recently attended an advanced Level III training in Cagliari, Italy, this past September to further hone his skills in this emerging area of dentistry. The training took place September 16-19, 2019 at the Sardinia Dental Teaching Center and covered several advanced dental restoration topics.

During the training, dedicated dentists from all over the world traveled to Italy to learn from experts in the field of biomimetic dentistry, including the inventor of the Stress-Reduced Direct Composite (SRDC) protocol for preserving and restoring teeth that have been compromised. Attendees saw demonstrations of challenging cases and learned advanced tips and tricks for preserving and restoring teeth.

In addition to learning advanced SRDC techniques for anterior and posterior areas of the mouth and watching live patient demos, participants attended literature reviews and hands-on courses covering a variety of topics. Dr. Lazare and other attendees gained skills in advanced biomimetic techniques, including direct composite veneers, fiber lay-down protocols for cusp replacement, and biomimetic full mouth rehabilitation.

Dr. Lazare also had the opportunity to examine case studies of patients several years after treatment with these biomimetic techniques. These insights will help him better serve his New York patients when he returns to his practice after the advanced training.

Biomimetic dentistry is an innovative and emerging branch of dentistry that is focused on preserving the patient’s natural teeth whenever possible. In traditional dentistry, teeth are often replaced with artificial materials and routinely ground down to accommodate porcelain crowns and other materials. Biomimetic techniques involve salvaging the patient’s natural teeth using less extreme treatment methods and sealing the teeth off from further damage in order to preserve them. Dr. Lazare is already an accomplished biomimetic dentist, but the Level III training in Italy will allow him to learn from leading international dental professionals and enhance his extensive knowledge even further.

Dr. Marc Lazare is a New York-based cosmetic, biomimetic, and general dentist, dedicated to helping his patients maintain excellent oral health. Known as “Dentist to the Stars” for his distinguished clientele, Dr. Lazare maintains a busy practice in New York and is passionate about education for his patients, his peers, and himself. In addition to participating in advanced training events, Dr. Lazare has written books and developed an app for patients on dental care, regularly gives and hosts lectures on dental topics, and is the new President-elect for the Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry and has served on its Executive Board for the past several years.

Dr. Lazare offers patients a wide range of dental services at his practice in New York City, ranging from cosmetic dentistry to biomimetic tooth restoration.
