Dickinson Insurance & Financial Services Brings Attention to Childhood Cancer and a Local Boy Fighting Leukemia with Community Fundraiser
Date:2/11/2016

Dickinson Insurance & Financial Services continues their commitment to act as Agents of Change in their community by announcing a new fundraiser in support of a local boy named Barrett, who has been fighting ALL leukemia for almost two years. The agency also hopes the campaign will bring awareness to, and rally support for, all local families dealing with childhood cancer. Information on how to help is now available at: http://www.dickinsoninsuranceagency.com/Lets-Help-Barrett-Battle-Leukemia_21_community_cause.

Barrett was diagnosed with childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in April 2014. ALL is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow, and usually gets worse quickly if it is not treated. The most common type of childhood cancer, typical signs of ALL include fever and bruising. Thankfully, after being hospitalized for chemotherapy and other treatments, Barrett is now in remission. However, doctors are closely monitoring his condition, necessitating weekly trips to the hospital for testing and additional treatment. Barrett’s family is understandably struggling with medical bills and travel expenses.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Barrett and his family,” said Jason Dickinson, owner of Dickinson Insurance & Financial Services. “There are so many local families fighting the good fight with childhood cancer, and they deserve our support as a community. We hope everyone not only rallies around Barrett, but also keeps an eye out for neighbors who may need their support. After all, neighbors helping neighbors is what we’re all about here.”

The caring team at Dickinson Insurance is busy engaging social media and other avenues in the initiative for Barrett. They have also dedicated a full page of their monthly magazine to featuring the cause. The electronic version of Our Hometown magazine may be viewed here: http://www.dickinsoninsuranceagency.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_39. Additionally, the agency has pledged to contribute $10 to the campaign for each and every recommendation they receive for an insurance quotation, with no purchase necessary.

Committed to fulfilling their promise to foster positive change within the community, Dickinson Insurance will continue to support local worthy causes, selecting a new group, family or individual to receive their support every two months. Concerned members of the community are invited to submit ideas for future campaigns through this link: http://www.dickinsoninsuranceagency.com/Submit-A-Community-Cause_54. Selected causes will be contacted by a representative of the agency’s Community Program.
