A Forever Recovery Showcases Their Unique Substance Abuse Treatment Program in New Video Series

A Forever Recovery, a holistic treatment center for the treatment of substance abuse located in southwest Michigan, has released three new videos that feature various aspects of their unique rehabilitation program, which offers several options in treatment method for their patients to choose from. Focusing on some of those options and the staff members that facilitate them, the videos also include clips of testimonials from some of the patients who participate in the different programs, as well as some of the things involved in each course.

“Our rehabilitation program is designed to help our patients find the path to recovery that works best for them,” commented A Forever Recovery founder Per Wickstrom. “Every person is different, and each one will respond differently to any particular method of treatment. One patient might find a certain method to be more beneficial, while another might be drawn to a different option. We have developed a program that will be effective for any person who is struggling with addiction. No matter who they are or where they come from, we have a program option that will work for them.

”Among the options that A Forever Recovery offers to their patients are the various spiritual pathways, or “tracks”, which include Christian-Faith Based, Holistic, and Indigenous Native American, among others. The purpose behind these tracks is to allow the patient to find or rediscover a spiritual connection with others, with themselves, and with the world around them, an aspect of recovery from addiction that is extremely important to many of their patients.

One video highlights the Indigenous Track, developed from a book titled “The Red Road to Wellbriety” which outlines a path to recovery based in Native American teachings that has been designed and adapted by White Bison, Inc. of Colorado Springs, CO. John Tsabetsaye, a withdrawal specialist, facilitates the Indigenous Track. “Providing patients with alternative solutions is one of the most important things that we offer here,” John explains. “No matter where we come from, no matter how we approach our recovery, recovery is possible.”Another featured program option is Celebrate Recovery®, part of the Christian Faith-Based Track. Celebrate Recovery® is a Christ-centered alternative to traditional 12-Step programs, using eight Recovery Principles. Marie Hartman is the facilitator for the Christian Track as well as a counselor at A Forever Recovery. “It provides a space to be open,” she explains about the Celebrate Recovery® program. “The Holy Spirit within us does the work, we just provide listening ears and we get to share some of how Christ has impacted our lives. It’s wonderful to be able to open up and praise and worship the Lord together.

”The third video highlights the Music Therapy program, one of the more popular courses that A Forever Recovery offers. In this discussion-based group, patients discover the different ways that music can be interpreted, and how it can relate to their recovery. Kat Maestas is the facilitator for the Music Therapy groups. “There’s an attachment there, there’s always somebody that can relate,” she explains. “It’s exciting to finally start to see some things click with people. They’re starting to pay more attention to what it is that they are bringing into their lives through music.

”These videos are available for viewing on the A Forever Recovery YouTube channel. Information about other aspects of their treatment program is available on their website.
