Navigating Cancer Announces Jeff Oberlander as VP, Engineering

SEATTLE, Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Navigating Cancer is proud to announce that Jeff Oberlander has joined Navigating Cancer as VP, Engineering. Jeff has over 23 years of software engineering development and leadership expertise from a wide variety of company sizes, from 120,000-employee Fortune 500 companies to a variety of small startups in the Seattle area.

Oberlander joins a growing Navigating Cancer team, which has developed the leading patient portal in the oncology market and now delivers patient engagement solutions to nearly 600 oncologists across the United States. With a mix of healthcare and technology industry veterans, Navigating Cancer is poised to build on this leadership position and plans to grow its market share aggressively in the coming year. In his new role, Jeff will lead the engineering team to scale its current technology platform for growth and address the many business opportunities that are opening in front of the company. This will include expanding the team, as well as working towards a service-oriented architecture in order to extend the capabilities of the platform and allow for the anticipated growth of the business.

Most recently, Jeff was the Senior Director, Software Engineering for Getty Images, where he led all of Getty's Seattle eCommerce web development teams. Over the last 8 years, his teams created mission critical, 24x7, high volume eCommerce sites (80 million images, 6 million searches a day) that led to Getty's nearly $1B annual revenue. Jeff is also a passionate leader and coach in lean and agile software development best practices, which strives to bring visibility to the business value of software being created, visibility of prioritization, and a focus on the flow of work from "concept to cash."
