MO BIO Laboratories, Inc. launches two new kits for high-throughput DNA isolation from plants and seeds
Date:2/27/2013

CARLSBAD, Calif., Feb. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MO BIO Laboratories, Inc., the leader in plant, soil, stool and microbial nucleic acid purification, announces the launch of the PowerMag™ Seed and PowerPlant® Pro-htp 96 Well DNA Isolation Kits, for high-throughput purification of nucleic acids from seeds and plants.

The PowerMag™ Seed DNA Isolation Kit is the latest kit in MO BIO's PowerMag™ line of kits for hands-free nucleic acid isolation using magnetic beads. The PowerPlant® Pro-htp 96 Well DNA Isolation Kits is a high-throughput version of MO BIO's popular PowerPlant® Pro DNA Isolation Kit for isolation of high quality DNA using silica spin filter technology.

Both Kits feature:

  • Unique bead-based lysis for uniform representation of the nucleic acid population
  • Inhibitor Removal Technology® (IRT)  for complete removal of PCR inhibitors commonly found in plants and seeds (for example, polysaccharides and polyphenolics) to eliminate false negatives in downstream applications such as qPCR
  • Phenolic Separation Solution, which breaks the bond between DNA and polyphenolics, increasing DNA yield in high-phenolic samples

The PowerMag™ Seed and PowerPlant Pro-htp 96 Well DNA Isolation Kits are available now.
