Leaders in Science Join Upcoming Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Oldest Science Foundation in America

TUCSON, Ariz., Dec. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Research Corporation for Science Advancement (www.rescorp.org), the oldest foundation in the United States devoted wholly to science, and the second-oldest overall (after the Carnegie Corporation), today announced the members of its Honorary Centennial Observance Committee. The Committee, which will help celebrate the foundation's 100th Anniversary in 2012, is comprised of some of the most renowned leaders in science, scientific research, and science policy and advocacy in America. They include the following:

Centennial activities scheduled for 2012 will kick off with a celebration in February in Tucson, AZ, where the foundation is based, and continue with a Gala in Washington, DC in March, at which science leaders and policymakers from across the country will gather. Centennial events will continue with additional activities across the country in the year-long celebration.
