The number of employers posting jobs in the Biotech Beach region increased 31 percent in the last year, reflecting the Bureau of Labor Statistics' prediction that biopharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing jobs will increase 10 percent this decade.

"Biotech Beach continues to grow and job seekers will likely notice the increase in job postings," said Emily Chereck, BioSpace Product Manager. "Employers in this industry will see applications from many qualified candidates, as competition rises for biotech and life sciences positions."

The report details the state of life sciences/biotechnology careers in Southern California, including top jobs, salary information and the most in-demand positions – Scientist, Quality Assurance/Quality Control/Regulatory Affairs, Research Associate and Senior Scientist.

For more than a decade, BioSpace has highlighted the life sciences/biotech industry in San Diego and Southern California with the Biotech Beach Hotbed Map.
