BioSpace Releases 2013 Life Sciences / Biotech Employment Outlook

DENVER, Jan. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today BioSpace, the largest online source for life sciences recruitment solutions and news, released its inaugural BioSpace Annual Report: Life Sciences Employment Outlook. The report aggregates job posting data, site demographic findings, and salary figures with industry economic and employment indicators to give a snapshot of the life science / biotech employment climate.

"Biopharma recovery continues with unemployment rates falling over three percent," said Chanille Hewett , BioSpace Product Manager. "Our salary data shows further recovery indicators; since bottoming out in 2010 biotechnology salaries hit a three year high in 2012. Not only are professionals getting back to work, but their pay is trending upward as well."

With almost three million unique users annually, the BioSpace community has been a microcosm of the life sciences / biotech industry for more than 25 years. The report highlights hiring trends, including the top recruited positions, the positions with the highest growth and decline, and more. Salary data includes top pay grades, industry pay averages from 2005 to 2012, and top paying positions.
