BGI Tech introduceert service op gebied van hele menselijke exoomsequencing op geavanceerd Complete Genomics-platform

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts en SHENZHEN, China, 22 juli 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BGI Tech Solutions Co., LTD, (BGI Tech), een dochtermaatschappij van BGI, 's wereld grootste organisatie op het gebied van genomica, kondigde de wereldwijde introductie aan van een nieuwe service ten behoeve van hele menselijke genoomsequentie via het in de sector meest geavanceerde platform van Complete Genomics.

In 2013 acquireerde BGI Complete Genomics, een bedrijf dat binnen de sector in hoog aanzien staat vanwege de in eigen beheer ontwikkelde sequentietechnologieën met een nauwkeurigheid van 99,999% en een buitengewone detectiegevoeligheid voor alle types varianten. Tot op heden werden ruim 15.000 sequenties van het menselijke genoom m.b.v. het Complete Genomics-platform bepaald en geanalyseerd. BGI heeft, door het toepassen van diens expertise op het gebied van genoom- en exoomsequencing, het Complete Genomics-platform verder helpen ontwikkelen zodat dit nu solide en snelle sequentiebepalingen van het hele menselijke genoom kan bieden die het inherente vermogen van dit platform nog verder versterken.

Sequentiebepaling van hele genomen op het Complete Genomics-platform is met ingang van heden, is tot het einde van 2014 beschikbaar voor het introductietarief van slechts $599 per monster. Een monster garandeert 100x een gemiddelde sequentiediepte voor doelregio's en omvat een analyse voor SNP/InDel-calling en -annotation, evenals voor SNP-validatie. Daarnaast levert BGI Tech, dankzij de gevoelige detectie van somatische varianten binnen de tumorheterogeniteit een speciale workflow en pipeline op het gebied van kankeronderzoek.
