Advanced Tissue Services is offering a discount to academic institutions in need of human tissue and bio-specimens. The company is asking interested universities to contact the company. The company will provide an Academic ID upon enrollment.

The human tissue company is charting a move to the University of Arizona’s Bio5 Institute located in Oro Valley. BIO 5 is home to the University of Arizona’s translational drug discovery and development center. Located just north of Tucson, Ariz., nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina mountains, Oro Valley has emerged as a bio-industry hub. Multiple drug companies have moved to several research parks in the area.

The human tissue company provides specimens in both normal and/or diseased states. Sample types include: cell lines, formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue, frozen tissue and fresh tissue. The company only obtains bio-specimens from network sources who have provided documented assurances of their appropriate IRB/ethics committee, licensing, or like entity, approvals.
