Description DAPI (4,6-diamidine-2-phenylindole, dihydrochloride) is a fluorescent counterstain which stains the nucleus blue in color. The bright blue fluorescence provides excellent contrast to red fluorochromes such as rhodamine, Cy3, Texas Red, or R-Phycoerythrin. DAPI can be used for fluorescent in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry.
