Plastic Surgeons Rate Auction of World-Class Florida Laterra Spa May 21 a 'Perfect 10,' Great Business Opp for Celebrity Retreat

The move to turn the Spa into an owner-operated business is just in time to catch the wave of a trend gaining momentum with the celebrity set: anti-aging surgical treatments such as face lifts in tandem with feel good, look good spa treatments.

According to Dr. Ira Papel, a past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, “Most top plastic surgery practices either have staff aestheticians or MediSpa affiliations. We recommend a few months prior to face lift surgery patients undergo a skin care regimen which may involve prescription products such as Retin A  typical salons just can’t administer.  Studies show that patients who combine both get better results.”

Dr. Dean Kane, of The Center for Cosmetic Surgery and MediSpa in Pikesville, MD, says, “Skilled aestheticians two to three days post-op may use therapeutic, lymphatic massages as well as ultrasound waves to reduce swelling and exfoliate. Prescription-level anti-aging nutrients are re-introduced in the skin at the two to three-week mark to maintain the healing progress to obtain smoother and better results.  Patients see a progressive difference compared to those who did not experience skin health preparation and post-operative stimulation.”

"The face is a window: if your skin looks good, you look and feel good.  I can easily see a scenario where a group of cosmetic surgeons get together to create a MediSpa at Laterra where patients may opt to 'take a vacation' vs. having the surgery done at home.  At six-month check-ups, patients may invite their friends and all enjoy the spa," says Papel, of the Facial Plastic Surgicenter in
