P&G Beauty & Grooming to present advancements in skin aging & stress sweat at AAD Meeting
Date:3/1/2013

g facial photodamage in a pair of identical twins, P&G assessed the results of a long-term treatment regimen with a commercially available cosmetic product (Olay Professional Pro-X Intensive Wrinkle Protocol). The twin showing more facial skin photodamage at baseline (Twin "B") was placed on a daily regimen of cosmetic products designed to treat the signs of photoaging. The twin showing less facial photodamage (Twin "A") did not change from her current skin care treatment program, serving as the control. The cosmetic regimen included a deep wrinkle treatment, a daily moisturizer with SPF 30 sunscreen and a nighttime cream, which contained combinations of niacinamide, anti-aging peptides, antioxidants and retinyl propionate. The regimen also included daily use of a powered facial cleansing brush in combination with an exfoliating cleanser (Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System). P&G Beauty & Grooming scientists tracked the results of the regimen on each of the twins' facial skin every three months for a total of 10 months.

At the end of the 10-month treatment period, Twin "B" showed nearly the same level of facial hyperpigmentation and essentially the same skin color lightness compared to her sister. These results demonstrate an improvement in facial skin appearance and a noticeable improvement in the visible signs of photoaging when using the Olay Professional Pro-X treatment regimen long term.
