Iris Biometrics Leader, EyeLock, Redefines Identity Authentication, Announces Availability of Software Development Kit to Accelerate Deployment of Technology
Date:7/16/2013

NEW YORK, July 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- EyeLock Inc., a market leader of iris-based identity authentication solutions, today announced the immediate availability of a software development kit (SDK) to accelerate the deployment and adoption of the Company's proprietary technology.

EyeLock's suite of iris biometric technology products can be used to accurately, safely and securely authenticate identities in both physical and logical environments. Second only to DNA, the iris is the most accurate method of trusted identity authentication. The iris provides a rich matrix of complex, stable and accurate characteristics which EyeLock uniquely translates into a highly scalable, instantaneous and reliable method of obtaining trusted identity that can be deployed across verticals – from enterprise environments, hospitals and schools to homeland security, hotels, banks and beyond.

The EyeLock SDK is an easy-to-use set of API libraries that enables users to rapidly develop and deploy iris-based authentication software applications that communicate with and control EyeLock products. The EyeLock SDK APIs are also used to capture video iris images, convert into iris templates, enroll users by adding them to an embedded or external database, match new iris templates against an existing database, allow physical or logical access based on authentication of a match and manage an iris template database.

"Releasing the SDK is a milestone for EyeLock; it simplifies the way customers use and benefit from our iris authentication technology and paves the way for even greater adoption across industries," said Anthony Antolino, Chief Marketing Officer of EyeLock. "The SDK will further help EyeLock extend our game-changing hardware solutions which enable physical access control, and move deeper into logical applications by integrating the technology into digital networks."

Antolino continued, "In the digitally connected world we live in, biometrics are relied upon more than ever before for security. Each day we are seeing numerous exciting new use cases for biometrics.  Releasing the SDK significantly accelerates the adoption and deployment of EyeLock's  biometrics technology, which creates a more secure ecosystem for both physical and logical environments. The applications are boundless and we look forward to continued adoption across market sectors."

Features of the SDK include:

  • Based on Microsoft .NET
  • Microsoft Visual Studio development environment
  • APIs to build iris enabled applications to enroll and match individuals
  • APIs to interface with legacy PACS (Physical Access Control Systems)
  • Supports Wiegand and F/2F protocols
