"Many of the companies we honored at the first Life Science Industry Awards in 2004, companies like Affymetrix, Ambion, Amersham, Dharmacon, Invitrogen, have been absorbed by larger companies over the years.” observed Bill Kelly, President of BioInformatics Inc. "But even with all the consolidation we’ve seen, these awards show that the life science tools industry remains focused on the needs of the scientist at the bench.”

"The winners we honored last night are innovators who enable academic, clinical, and pharma/biotech scientists to make new discoveries and diagnosis.” said Craig Overpeck, CEO of BioInformatics Inc. "We’re proud to have supported them as they seek to anticipate and understand the needs of scientists for even more advanced solutions that make our lives better.”

This year's event was supported by the generous sponsorship of BroadOak Capital Partners and the California Life Science Association.
